It is a slow, scenic boat ride along the Upper Seletar Reservoir for visitors to enjoy nature’s tranquillity. Visitors may spot wildlife such as storks, herons and even elephants.

2. How long is the duration of the cruise?

The cruise lasts approximately 15 minutes.

3. What is the difference between the River Safari Cruise and the Amazon River Quest?

The River Safari Cruise is a slow, scenic boat ride along the Upper Seletar Reservoir, whereas the Amazon River Quest simulates an open-top boat voyage down the Amazon River featuring land and tree-dwelling animals in naturalistic habitats.

4. Is the cruise included in the admission ticket?

Yes it is included in the admission ticket.

5. What are the operating hours of the cruise?

The first boarding is at 10.30am and last boarding is at 6.00pm.

Limited seats are available and boarding is on a first come first served basis. An estimated waiting time will be indicated at the Boat Plaza.

Each cruise can accommodate approximately 40 passengers.

7. Are there any height restrictions on the cruise?

There are no height restrictions for passengers. The cruise is also wheelchair-friendly.

Yes, the cruise is fitted with a roof for the comfort of visitors.

9. Is there a guide on the cruise?

There will be a recorded commentary which will guide visitors on their journey. In addition, a guide will be present to showcase animal-related specimens for visitors to observe and learn from.

10. Can I see the animals if I do not take the cruise?

The River Safari Cruise is mainly a slow, scenic boat ride along the Upper Seletar Reservoir.

85% of River Safari’s animal collection is designed to be viewed by visitors on foot, while another boat ride – Amazon River Quest – lets visitors see the other 15%. Animals along the Amazon River Quest can only be seen via the boat ride.

11. Will the cruise continue if it rains?

To ensure the safety and comfort of visitors, the cruise may be suspended if it rains, depending on the water and wind conditions.

Visitors can go on the cruise once inclement weather subsides and safe operations can be assured. The cruise and admission tickets are not refundable.

12. Why can’t I see animals while on the cruise?

The River Safari Cruise is mainly a scenic boat ride along the Upper Seletar Reservoir. Sensitivity and alertness to the surroundings are key to spotting animals among lush vegetation. In the wild, it is natural for animals to blend into their surroundings to hide in plain sight. Likewise, the animals along the cruise exhibit similar behaviour, hiding behind boulders and vegetation.
